Sarah Liu

San Jose, CA

Sarah is a third-year student in Seventh College studying Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Design and Interaction and Computational Social Science. Growing up in Silicon Valley, Sarah has been surrounded by tech companies and the continual rise of entrepreneurial establishments, inspiring her to be driven. As a traditional visual designer, she specializes in using various tools (e.g., paint, charcoal, pastels, color pencils) to apply fundamental art practices. She is greatly appreciative of her background, as it has shaped her to become the person she is today.

Professionally, Sarah intends to intertwine business and creativity into her future career. She has been brushing up her technical and design thinking skills to pursue a career in UI/UX and Product Design. Currently, Sarah is a Web Developer at the UC San Diego Design Lab and previous Product Design Fellow at Product Space. Sarah would like to study abroad in East Asia in college to gain more perspective of the different cultures and seek a diverse academic experience, while also searching for potential work opportunities.

In her leisure, Sarah enjoys documenting her food adventures, going on Wikipedia rabbit holes, and taking advantage of her time in San Diego by watching mesmerizing sunsets at the beach. Through Alpha Kappa Psi, Sarah has been able to not only grow professionally and personally but also find a community that has helped her create numerous memories in college. She is grateful for the opportunities that have been presented through the fraternity and is excited for what the future holds.
